We constructed the Main Control Centre for the national gas pipeline in Serbia from scratch. And it’s not just a control centre. It’s a Control Centre marked by excellent design as well as technological supremacy, allowing smooth daily operations.

Complete centre is ergonomically designed, so all relevant infrastructure and technologies can be controlled through an automation system which is programmed to support the work process.

The components of the workplace or operator console are designed specifically for the demanding 24/7 work environment. The concept of the operator's workplace and the operator's console are based on the EN 11064 standard specific to the control centres.

At Comita, we participated in every phase of the interconnecting 400 km gas interconnector pipeline; preparation and review of project documentation, development of project solutions, project execution. Always in accordance with international regulations, EU standards and local legislation.

We took care of the complex system integration and the creation of unified control dispatching centres.

To enable full infrastructure functionality, we developed and installed fully operation-ready block containers, including complex systems of process automation, leakage detection, fire alarm systems, gas contamination detection, fire-fighting systems, safety and telecommunication system equipment, as well as power supply systems and cathodic protection systems of the gas pipelines.

After successfully concluding the construction exploitation began which meant it was also necessary to provide comprehensive maintenance services to assure the safe & reliable operation of the entire system.

Every gas pipeline needs maintenance. Repair processes can only be done on an empty gas pipeline. That usually means potential pollution and losing gas. A lot of it!

Well, you don’t need to imagine. At Comita we provide Mobile compressor stations (MCS) designed for pumping natural gas from sections that are about to undergo repairs into other sections of existing gas pipelines.

We can also use Mobile compressor stations for pumping gas from sections of the main gas pipeline to an adjacent section of the same pipeline.

This way we drastically reduce natural gas emissions into the atmosphere.

Our eco-friendly Mobile compressor stations for controlled emptying of gas pipelines are developed in cooperation with an international partner. Mobile compressor stations are fully equipped to operate independently without any external power source. The compressor aggregate is driven by a gas engine, using the available gas directly from the pipeline.

To enable safe and reliable operation of a major international gas pipeline, you need state of the art equipment and comprehensive system integration. This includes safety systems, pipeline process control, SCADA, common computer infrastructure integration, security system integration, network management, gas metering systems, electrical & telecommunication equipment, fire & gas detection, and many other pipeline control systems.

Major international gas pipeline project needs proper planning and preparation protocols. These include various system integration processes, supplier installation supervision, commissioning and pre-commissioning works, several worksite integration testing works, execution of site acceptance tests (SAT), integration with 3rd party information systems, and other system modifications & upgrades.
